What is e-cigarette?
There are many different names for electronic cigarettes, including electronic cigarettes, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), alternative nicotine delivery systems (ANDS), electronic water pipes, mods, electronic cigarette pens, vaporizers, electronic cigarettes, and fuel tank systems.
Electronic cigarettes come in many shapes and sizes. They can look like cigarettes, cigars, pipes, pens, USB flash drives, or maybe other forms.
E-cigarettes include batteries that activate the device, heating elements that heat the e-cigarette liquid and turn it into an aerosol of tiny particles (sometimes called "vapor"), ink cartridges or fuel tanks that hold the e-cigarette liquid, and inhalation of the aerosol. Nozzle or opening.
E-cigarettes do not contain tobacco, but many e-cigarettes contain nicotine derived from tobacco. Therefore, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies it as a "tobacco product."
What is vap?
The use of e-cigarettes is often referred to as "vaping" because many people believe that e-cigarettes produce vapor, which is then inhaled. But in fact, e-cigarettes produce aerosols composed of tiny particles, which is different from steam.
How does e-cigarette work?
E-cigarettes heat a liquid called e-liquid or e-juice, turning it into an aerosol (sometimes called "vapor"). The e-cigarette smoker inhales it into the lungs.
Do e-cigarettes (including juls) contain nicotine?
All e-liquids in juul and most other e-cigarettes contain nicotine, the same as the addictive drugs contained in regular cigarettes, cigars, hookahs, and other tobacco products. However, the nicotine content of all types of e-cigarettes is not the same, and sometimes the product label does not list the true nicotine content.
Juul usually contains more nicotine than other types of e-cigarettes and cigarettes. Because of this, JUUL and similar products may be more addictive than other types of e-cigarettes. Some children become physically dependent on nicotine after using these products.
There are some e-cigarette brands that claim to be nicotine-free, but they have been found to contain nicotine.
What is in the aerosol ("vapor") of e-cigarettes?
Although the term "vapor" sounds harmless, the aerosol in e-cigarettes is not water vapor and may be harmful. The aerosol of e-cigarettes contains nicotine and other addictive substances that can cause lung disease, heart disease and cancer.
Also, it is important to know that all juul and most other e-cigarettes contain nicotine. There is evidence that nicotine can damage the brain development of adolescents. If nicotine is used during pregnancy, it can also cause premature birth and low birth weight.
In addition to nicotine, e-cigarettes and e-cigarette vapors usually contain propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin. These substances are used to generate stage or drama fog and have been found to increase lung and airway irritation after concentrated exposure.
In addition, e-cigarettes and e-cigarette vapors may contain the chemical substances or substances listed below.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): At certain levels, VOCs can cause eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches and nausea, as well as damage to the liver, kidneys and nervous system.
Seasoning chemicals: Some seasonings are more toxic than others. Studies have shown that some flavors contain different levels of the chemical diacetyl, which is related to a serious lung disease called bronchiolitis obliterans.
Formaldehyde: This is a carcinogen. If the e-liquid is overheated or there is not enough liquid to reach the heating element (called a "dry bubble"), formaldehyde is formed.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently does not require testing of all substances in e-cigarettes to ensure their safety. It is also difficult to know exactly which chemical substances are contained in e-cigarettes, because most products do not list all harmful or potentially harmful substances contained in e-cigarettes. Some products have incorrect labels.
It is important to know that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that sometimes e-cigarette products are changed or modified and may contain harmful or illegal substances from unknown sources.
